Fighting for the rights of Missourians
Missouri Association for the Restoration of Rights is a Missouri-based non-profit organization established to aid Missourians suffering from the collateral consequences of a conviction to move on and live productive lives after incarceration.
Goal
Missouri has a Gubernatorial Pardon or an Expungement process by which a convicted felon may be freed from the consequences of a conviction, both of which are extremely slow and highly unlikely. MAFRR hopes to add an additional avenue of rights restoration for those with a conviction.
Clean Slate Act
Missouri’s current expungement laws allow tens of thousands of people to have their records expunged. However, around 1% of all expungements filed are granted. Clean Slate would automate the process for eligible records, replacing the petition-based process.
